Galaxy Crystal Mug

This mug is a functional sculpture which is all about contrast. Inspired by the magnificent geodes found in nature and stars in the galaxy. I threw this mug on the wheel, and attached my hand carved crystals one by one. I then glazed and fired it in the kiln and accented each teeny tiny star in 22k gold.
